Lynn Gentry

Poet~Singer-Songwriter

Lynn Gentry is a songwriter and poet whose work emerges from the belief that creativity is a vital, shared human experience. His journey began in 2009 at the iconic corner of Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco, where a borrowed typewriter and a sign that read "Pick a Subject & Price, Get a Poem" launched a profound artistic practice. This simple, powerful act of creating spontaneous verse for the public not only defined the beginnings of his venture, Lynn Gentry Prose—which has since delivered over 40,000 poems to an international clientele and for major brands like Diptyque and Under Armour—but also helped inspire a worldwide wave of public poetry.

As a musician, Gentry channels this same spirit of raw, personal connection. His songwriting, which he describes as "electric freak folk," is an ethereal and modal exploration that breaks from conventional resolution, inviting listeners into a more contemplative space. His dedication to his craft and community led him to curate and produce his own shows and festivals, fostering artistic circles long before his debut. Now, he prepares to share his most personal work to date through his music label, Bourgeois Blues. His highly anticipated debut solo album, The Wake, is slated for release in January 2026, marking a significant milestone in a career dedicated to artistic authenticity.

Lynn Gentry’s work—whether a poem typed on the spot or a song years in the making—is a testament to a lifelong commitment to advancing creativity. He continues to live and create in Brooklyn, New York, inviting audiences to engage with art that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
