California-born, Brooklyn-based songwriter Lynn Gentry will premiere selections from his recent debut, The Wake. Having gained recognition as a poet, his work has been featured on Viceland, Business Insider, SF Guardian, and Jetzt. The Wake spans 15 years, with production commencing during the pandemic and concluding in the summer of 2025. The album's title is inspired by the interconnectedness of all life. This concept was deeply influenced by the pregnancy of Lynn Gentry's wife, Sarah, who expressed feeling the presence of all the women in her family watching over her during that time. Thematically, "The Wake" explores subjects such as love for humanity, empathy, suicide, the eternal connections of life, women's rights, and various forms of love and connection.
